Tennessee Adds Flavor to Preservation Event

NASHVILLE (October 24, 2009) – Adding to three years of sponsorship Delta Blues is exceptionally proud to be the official donor of the 9th Annual Blue Moon Gala benefiting the Land Trust for Tennessee.
The charity takes place on Saturday, October 24, at the Historic Glen Leven Antebellum Estate on 4000 Franklin Road in Nashville. Other noted sponsors for the $200-a plate event will include HCA Tri State, Jack Daniels, and The Frist Center, to name a few.
Leslie McKinney Bass, Nashville native and Owner/President of Delta Blues Iced Tea Company comments on her company's proud sponsorship: "Once in a Blue Moon is an ideal event for our company's participation. For our state's preservation of land and resources, the event not only raises money, but increases consumer awareness on the importance in the conservation and protection of land for future generations. Providing a pair of Delta Blues Tea Punch in each favor bag, along with cookies and a map, we hope our design will take the 700+ revelers on a picnic and driving tour of Land Trust's projects."
Preserving history is the premise for the birth of Bass's company. After moving from her native South to Chicago, Bass missed many southern traditions. One, being tea punch, so indeginous to Tennessee. Using her Grandmother's recipe, Bass re-created this blend of citrus, brewed tea, mint and bottled it.
"Let's just say that I put all my roots in that bottle," said Bass.
First, sold in the Windy City farmer's markets, Delta Blues has expanded throughout the southeast and Florida.
"Even the Yankees started requesting my tea punch. When I suggested they add spirits, they liked it even better," said Bass.
Previous Blue Moon galas served up Delta Blues hot signature toddy's: Hot Delta Jack (Deep South Tea Punch w/whiskey) and Hot Bayou (Bayou Soleil Tea Punch w/rum).
Recently added to the Delta Blues line-up is Peachy Keen Tea Punch (Green Tea, peach and lemongrass).
